markdown.md does not collect anything about you, unless you choose to send feedback. There is no account, no sign-in, no sync and no analytics.
Your documents are never uploaded. Reading and editing happen entirely on your Mac.
If you choose Help ▸ Send Feedback…, the app sends your message to the developer over HTTPS, through a feedback service called Luno. This only happens when you press Send. Along with your message it sends: your email address, only if you fill it in; your Mac model, macOS version and language setting; the app's version, build number and identifier; the version of the feedback library; and whether you were reading or editing. It never sends your documents, their contents or their file names. Like any web request, the feedback service also receives your IP address. Your message is used only to read and answer your feedback, and is never shared, sold or used for tracking. Feedback is kept until it has been handled, and deleted on request: markdown@johanraes.be.
The app is a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the payment and does not pass on your name, your email address or your payment details. The app never sees them.
